This work explores the fragility and eventual destruction of nature by man shown through diptychs, overexposure, chemical and physical alterations, and print destruction. Boiling, bleaching, scratching, burning, and other changes are used to exemplify the destruction of nature and change the negatives. The pristine print on the left represents the current state of the landscape while the one on the right shows the damage caused over time by human intervention in the area. The diptych format was chosen as a way to directly juxtapose the two images causing tension between the similar subject matter shown in two different contexts.
